ROBIN, DataUnion: You have been collecting a lot of data in the web2 world, which is basically just sitting around. So like you have a pot of gold under your bed, and it’s time to take it out and and make money out of it…
SARAH, web3earner: Welcome back to web3earner’s Meet a Builder interview series, where we talk to the teams behind your favorite web3 earning projects. My name is Sarah and I’m delighted to be hosting Robin from DataUnion today. In today’s interview, we’ll be covering the ways in which organizations and individuals can be using DataUnion’s blockchain-based products and services to earn. Let’s begin – how are you today Robin?
ROBIN: I’m fine thanks for asking us around.
SARAH: That’s excellent. Let’s dive right in. Could you give us a brief rundown as to what DataUnion is?
ROBIN: So DataUnion is is a technology stack for web2 plus web3 where we basically enable companies or individuals to start data unions using our technology stack to get a head start, so like saving years of development time. We are very much focused on on mobile applications because we think that that furthers the adoption, to bring in the data to to enhance data. But then on the other hand we’re also working on our own protocol that basically then backs all of this new data economy.
SARAH: Beautiful. And how can people earn with DataUnion?
ROBIN: So the earning happens over the data unions that basically are building on top of us. One of them for example is WeDataNation, it’s going to launch the application soon. So basically you are you are providing your own data, you have been collecting a lot of data in the web 2 world which is basically just sitting around, so like you have a pot of gold under under your bed and it’s time to take it out and and make money out of it.
And on the other hand it’s also then contributing to data. So like another use case that we have is Insight, which is with physicians, so like the the doctors upload data from operations and then also verify that that the annotations for the data are correct. So basically it’s all all around the data economy. Also answering questions , helping in surveys, connecting to brands for example, all of this is possible with the different data unions that are working with our technology stack.
SARAH: Amazing. Very innovative. And finally, can you give us a recent development within the DataUnion ecosystem, and what impact impact that will have on people earning within web3?
ROBIN: So yeah the thing that I’m most excited about right now is WeDataNation, we’re we’re finishing the mobile app right now, and it’s going to go into into beta soon. So like there’s also the opportunity to stand up and get a get a nice bonus. Maybe we can link link to that here next to the video.
The thing is that that there, you basically take take the data that you’ve been collecting over the years – on Facebook on Amazon, all your transactions there, on on Netflix what you have watched, on Spotify what you have been listening to – and connecting these into your personal profile of your web2 data. And then in a in a safety compliant way – so like your data will never be copied – you can then offer this to two companies, basically getting some sense out of this, making some sense out of this and getting their own insights into it.
And innovatively we’re now working with a company that offers then also to have like language questions about it, so like based on ChatGPT, that you that the companies can ask questions around all the users. So like millions of people who have their profiles in there, companies can ask about it and then they have to pay for it, and basically most of the this goes then back to the users. So like you’re starting to then make money all of the data that you have been collecting over the years. So I think that’s really an innovative product that we are we’re launching with this company soon.
SARAH: That sounds very exciting. Well thank you for joining me today Robin, it was a pleasure having you on here to talk about what DataUnion are up to. Thank you to all that that have tuned in today, I will see you next time.
ROBIN: The pleasure was mine, thank you so much.
